Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyoto Gosho)

Pond Garden (Oike-niwa)

Keyaki Bridge in "Oike-niwa", which spreads out in front of "Kogosho" (Palace for Ceremonies and Imperial Audiences)
and "Ogakumonjō" (Palace for Study and Other Ceremonies).
Isn't it the most elegant bridge in Japan?

Around the pond is "Suhama"(sandy beach) where pebbles are laid.
The characteristic of "Oike-niwa" is the arch bridge (Keyaki bridge),
"Suhama" formed at the pond edge, the gentle curved contour, and the trees cut elegantly round -----.
Probably this garden may be one of the most elegant gardens in Japan.

You can see the beautiful scenery from any angle. "Oike-niwa" is not luxurious, but has a simple beauty.
